For some years we took almost total responsibility for the care of a group of very severely disabled young people living in the placement centre who had been receiving inadequate care. We provided staff to look after them and met the cost of their clothes and medicines.
In 2003 we purchased a house for this group in the nearby village of Amara . Now they live there in peace and happiness, following suitable programmes to develop their potential. They are cared for by Romanian staff and have become part of local village life. We have already purchased more land and use this to provide produce for the house, as well as providing work for the more able young men.
